Empowering Women in Energy: Celebrating Our First Women Mentoring Cohort Graduation

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, PEN@Hydropower is proud to mark a significant milestone—the graduation of the first cohort of our Women Mentoring Program! This initiative was launched with a clear mission: to empower women in the energy sector, fostering leadership, innovation, and career growth while working towards greater gender balance in decision-making roles.

Why the Women Mentoring Program Matters

The energy sector, like many STEM fields, has long struggled with gender disparities, particularly in leadership positions. Our Women Mentoring Program was designed to:

Increase women’s representation at managerial and decision-making levels
Support the COST goal of achieving 50% women participation across Working Groups
Help participants set concrete career goals and develop action plans
Encourage female entrepreneurs and foster innovative ideas
Boost confidence and leadership skills
Provide networking opportunities for career advancement
Drive social change, energy transition, and climate action

To our graduating mentees, congratulations on this important achievement! Over the course of the program, you have gained new insights, developed essential skills, and expanded your professional networks. More importantly, you have taken meaningful steps towards shaping the future of the energy sector. Remember, career development is a continuous journey—embrace challenges, seek new opportunities, and support one another along the way. We are incredibly proud of what you have accomplished and look forward to seeing your future contributions!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Mentors

Behind every great mentorship program are dedicated mentors who selflessly share their knowledge, experience, and guidance. A huge thank you to our mentors for your generosity and commitment to shaping the next generation of women leaders in energy. Your support has been instrumental in building confidence, fostering new perspectives, and empowering mentees to reach their full potential.
